Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at Bridget@bridgetnichols.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Coaching is a collaborative process that supports you to increase clarity or move forward with your goals.  Unlike therapy, which often looks at past experiences and healing, coaching focuses on what you want for the future. Unlike consulting or mentoring, I don’t provide advice—I will guide you to uncover your own solutions, strengths, and next steps.

Anyone who wants to make meaningful changes in their life, health, or relationships can benefit from coaching. Whether you’re looking for clarity, accountability, or a fresh perspective to move through obstacles, coaching helps you build on your strengths and experience to move forward with confidence.

That’s completely okay! Many of my clients come to coaching without any prior experience. We’ll start at a comfortable pace, and I’ll guide you through what to expect. Think of our first session as a conversation where you get to explore your thoughts and what you’d like support with.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change but unsure where to start, coaching can help. A free Discovery Call is a great way to explore whether coaching feels like the right fit for you.

My approach is built around trust, kindness, and respect. My role is to help you explore your insights, clarify your goals, and create a plan to achieve them. You will do most of the talking, and we will work together as a team. I will provide the framework and the space for you to unlock your potential. I may ask you to stretch yourself at times to help you get great results.

I most often work with clients who are discovering new possibilities after finishing a full-time career. This includes creating a foundation for vibrant health to flourish as they pursue what’s next.

I specialize in health coaching, with a focus on healthy aging. As appropriate, I also coach people seeking to take a break from alcohol to optimize performance at any age.

In my career as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), I received extensive training in health coaching using motivational interviewing. In 2024, I received a Diploma in Coaching & Alcohol-Free Performance Coaching from the Andy Ramage Training Academy. In 2025, I received a Certificate in Positive Psychology Performance Coaching.

We’ll start by checking in on where you are and what feels most important that day. Then we’ll explore your goals, challenges, and options together. You’ll leave each session with clarity, insights, and concrete next steps you can take.

Most clients meet with me every weekly for 45–60 minutes, but frequency can be customized to fit your needs. Coaching works best when we meet consistently to maintain momentum.

Both! Most of my sessions are held online via Zoom video call, which allows you to connect from anywhere. If you’re local, we may also arrange in-person sessions when possible. It’s important to arrange a quiet location where we won't be interrupted.

It depends on your goals, but a commitment to start with 6-8 sessions is most beneficial. Some clients work with me for a few months to achieve a specific outcome, while others continue longer for ongoing support and growth. We’ll design a plan that works for you.

I offer several coaching packages to meet different needs and budgets (please see the Offerings page). We can discuss pricing and options during your free Discovery Call so you can choose the best fit for you.

Yes—I offer a free Discovery Call so you can experience what coaching feels like, ask questions, and see if we’re a good fit before making a commitment.

You can book directly through my website on the Offerings page or by contacting me at Bridget@BridgetNichols.com.

Please contact me to reschedule at Bridget@BridgetNichols.com. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This helps us honor each other’s time.

Please note that on rare occasions I may experience internet or power outages. It’s part of living in the mountains of Boquete, Panama with an intense rainy season!

You can expect greater clarity, accountability, and momentum. Results vary depending on your goals and commitment, but clients often report feeling more focused, confident, and empowered to take meaningful action in their lives. These benefits last long after our coaching sessions.

Many clients notice shifts after the very first session. Others experience gradual progress over time as they increase their confidence and resilience. The key is consistency and your willingness to take small steps between sessions.

Before our first session, I’ll provide a coaching agreement that describes how we will work together. I’ll ask you to review the agreement and invite you to provide feedback and revisions as appropriate. I'm happy to provide a draft before a Discovery Call if requested.

Most important is for you to arrive on time for your sessions with an open heart and mind and be willing to do the work. I will frequently invite feedback from you at the end our sessions.

I will not be giving you advice or telling you what to do, but I may ask you for permission to share a teaching point or mentoring. It is always your choice to hear them or not.

Yes. Everything you share in our sessions is completely confidential, creating a safe space for open and honest conversations. The only exception would be if I believe that you are in danger of hurting yourself or others.

That’s okay! Many people come to coaching unsure of exactly what they want. Together, we’ll clarify your priorities and define meaningful goals. Sometimes the first step is simply creating space to explore, and many choose to start with identification of their strengths and values.

Coaching is a partnership, and your growth depends on your engagement in the process. If you feel it’s not the right fit, you’re never locked in—you can stop at any time. It is always your choice.

Your first step is to schedule a free Discovery Call directly through my website on the Offerings page or by contacting me at Bridget@BridgetNichols.com. This 30-minute call is on Zoom (with video) and gives you the opportunity to explore if coaching is a fit for you and if we will work well together. After this call, I will follow up with you via email for your feedback.

All you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to explore. If you like to take notes, bring a pen/pencil and paper. If you’d like, jot down a few thoughts about what’s most important to you right now or what you’d like to change.
